Anime is back at ConDor! From Friday at 3pm to Sunday at 4pm, we'll be showing a collection of new and old series and movies in Japanese with English subtitles. In keeping with ConDor's theme this year, some of what we show will focus on death and beyond.

Overnight we'll be showing marathons, subject to attendance and our
ability to stay awake. We'll also have our second annual anime music video contest. Come watch and vote!

All movies released to the public are rated for the age group it is suitable for. Anime is not different. Below, the number in parentheses is the recommended minimum age for each showing.

Condor XV AMV Contest

This will be our second annual anime music video contest at Condor in San Diego. We are accepting submissions from anyone. Categories and prizes are to be determined based on entries received, but will include prizes for best AMV from an attending creator, best AMV matching this year's theme (death and beyond), and best in show.

Rules:

Submissions should be 7 minutes or shorter each. Up to two submissions per AMV creator will be allowed.

Videos should be submitted in a quality computer format, no tapes, no Youtube. Compressed AVI files are preferred. Yousendit.com is the preferred way to send in your submissions. Send to <ashi (at) anysize.org>.

Videos should contain Japanese anime. Some other scenes are allowed as well. Videos should contain music; language is not important. Any subtitles included must be added by the AMV creator; no subtitles from fansubs. Videos should not contain sexual nudity or be inappropriate for teenagers. If you have any questions on content, please ask.

Videos approved by the Condor anime staff will be shown in the contest and will be voted on by audience ballot. Categories will be chosen by staff based on AMVs submitted. Best of show will be chosen by anime staff based on audience ballots, personal preference, theme, and the phase of the moon.

Deadline for submissions is February 1, 2008.
