Where would science fiction and fantasy be without costumes?  Whether you are talking about movies, fine art, trading card games, computer games, or comic books, costumes are very often an integral part of what makes them fun.  

The ConDor Costume Competition, otherwise known as The Masquerade, will be Saturday evening at 7:30 PM.  The walk-through will be between 7 & 8. All costume genres, original designs and recreations, are welcome.

Not a dance or party, as the name usually implies, the Masquerade is a presentation upon a stage, where each contestant shows off their costume for a minute or two to the audience, often with recorded music to create a mood. Anyone attending the convention may be in the competition at no charge, or just watch from the audience. Cameras and camcorders are welcome, but flash photography of contestants on stage is forbidden for the safety reasons. A well-lit photography area will be available. 

This year we would like to send out a specific invitation to all you steampunks out there. Enter the Masquerade and show us your stuff. There are many fans that still don't know what steampunk looks like. Here is your chance.
