Actress Catherine Hicks joins ConDor guest programming Actress Catherine Hicks, who has a diverse body of work in film, television and theatre has just completed her 11th and final season of WB/CW’s most popular TV series 7th Heaven, where she plays Annie Camden, the wife of minister Eric Camden and mother of seven children. This season, the show became the longest running family drama in the history of television, surpassing both Little House on the Prairie and The Waltons! The NY Times called Annie a witty woman who "not only relishes her role of housewife, but also is incredibly skilled at writing, plumbing, and carpentry". The New Yorker called 7thHeaven, "so efficient that it can nose right through your force field of sophistication and hit a place in you that you may have believed was defunct." Ellen Muth Acting Workshops We don't have the days scheduled yet, but Ellen Muth will hold two workshops during ConDor (Her first workshops so please share this news): "The art and methods of acting" A combination of lecturing on the different methods of acting along with exercises in method acting and that means a lot of audience interaction and getting involved in many exercises, improvs, character role play, and learning about the different methods which acting stems from and playing with their theories, many which may seem funny, weird, embarrassing and irrelevant but this is what all of the big name stars have done and still do at some point in their career. The other workshop, more for people who want to be actors, models, comedians, commercials, and learning about the entertainment industry in general and being able to diversify when it comes to changing from acting in film to acting in a sitcom or modeling in a Sears catalog to modeling in a six page editorial for Elle magazine. There's also the big challenge for the actor which is being able to adapt to or from Theatre. Theatre is a totally different creature than any other acting experience, whether it be a musical or a play. Then there's also the business side to entertainment, which many performers forget they need to learn or they're going to be taken. Worships will be between 1-2 hours, and have an additional charge of $20 plus $5 if not attending the convention. More Guests Join ConDor XV ConDor is pleased to announce the addition of Herb Jefferson Jr. and Catherine Hicks to the programming schedule of ConDor XV, coming up on Feb 29 through March 2. Herb Jefferson Jr. played Boomer on the original Battlestar Galactica series and was most recently in the Star Trek: New Voyages episode "Of Gods and Men." He is also involved in community and charity activities, including the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys For Tots program, USO, California Paralyzed Veterans Association, and California Special Olympics. He will be signing autographs and hosting his favorite episode in our media room. Catherine Hicks first rose to prominence as Dr. Faith Coleridge on the soap opera Ryan's Hope from 1976 through 1978. In 1982, she took the lead role in the comedy/detective series Tucker's Witch opposite Tim Matheson. Supporting roles in movies followed, with appearances in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (as Dr. Gillian Taylor) , Peggy Sue Got Married (both in 1986), and the mother in the first Child's Play horror film (in 1988). The next year, she starred opposite Tony Danza in She's Out of Control. In the first half of the 1990s, Ms. Hicks found acting work in TV movies and in 1996 was cast in her most famous role as Annie Camden on the drama 7th Heaven (opposite fellow Star Trek alum Stephen Collins).
